Against Architecture The Urgency to (Re)Think the City

From 26th April to 25th June 2000

Project curated by José Miguel G. Cortés

The whole world is witnessing a process of concentration of population in large metropolises which can no longer be regarded as cities in the conventional sense of the term. The project Against Architecture brings together a group of artists and architects who embark on a reflection on the important changes in recent decades concerning both urban physiognomy and the social structure of cities. They constitute different approaches to the same set of problems although they all share a subversive stance against the tide of prevalent strategies.
