Reyes Oteo, composer and electronic luthier, accompanies Juanjo in this project, establishing an innovative dialogue in which the percussion pulse finds echoes and contrasts with the electronic landscapes

LA EDAD DE ORO + MANU CACHERO

DATE: 20 MAY
TIME: 8:00 PM
YEAR: 1930
DIRECTOR: Luis Buñuel
DURATION: 62’
COUNTRY: France
GENRE: Surrealism

Manu Cachero will perform the piece composed for La edad de oro. Through the use of synthesizers, samplers and sequencers, he will offer an experimental proposal – between ambient and avant-garde electronics indebted to COIL – offering a musical accompaniment that intensifies the visual surrealism and aesthetic harshness of the film. A dialogue is established between the film and the musical piece, where the main influence becomes the image itself purged of all context, seeking “unconscious associations” in the manner of the surrealists. To do so, he will use live the sound elements that allow him to draw different layers and textures, moving the listener’s attention from the background to the foreground, focusing and blurring at will. In short, covering the image projected on the screen like a magnifying glass.
