The development of this project at the Espai d’art contemporani de Castelló is determined by the complexity of the staging, of making the proposals visible in terms of the combination of different digital image formats. In most cases, the expanded field of feminist production in the electronic space favours an interrelation between real and virtual space, as is typical of the post-media condition of our culture. Cyberfem as a whole presents a new way of conceiving public space as political space.
In a state of confrontation, conflict, and permanent ambiguity, positioning would be the key practice for founding knowledge organised around the imagery of vision. Positioning implies responsibility and political commitment. Technologies are forms of life, social orders, visualisation practices. The disputes of the world are disputes about how to see. How should we look? From where should we look?
‘Cyberfem’ aims to influence this process and to question its possible future developments. In the context of current geopolitical, economic, and cultural conflicts, a broadened or expanded (cyber) feminism can collaborate through partial politics to keep open the presuppositions of difference in relation to the same social order, to the visualisation of difference.
