Places of Memory reflects on the means through which memory allows us to apprehend, retain or preserve knowledge while at the same time it underlines its importance as an essential element of individual and collective identity. The artists participating in this project have taken memory as one of the most significant signs of identity of their artistic activity. Opposing the media-driven systems of penetration of the market of the various lived experiences, cultural creation often posits a stubborn form of resistance to this restrictive and homogenizing official memory that is being imposed.
