COL·LECTIU D’IMPROVISACIÓ MUSICAL DE CASTELLÓ (CIM.CS) + TOTAL FREE IMPRO

CONCERT

MAY 14, 2025. 20.00 h.

Performers: José Ángel González (voice), Miquel Ángel (clarinets), Jesús Gallardo (percussion), Amadeu Marin (guitar and objects)

The word “total,” which heads the title of the performance, is inspired by the concept coined by Richard Wagner, a 19th-century German composer, about the Total Art, which integrates the six arts—music, dance, poetry, painting, sculpture, and architecture—into one single performance. Although some of these arts will not be reflected in this free improvisation intervention, most of the mentioned disciplines will be highlighted on stage.

Performers: Thomas Bjelkeborn: Electrònica i video, Josep Lluís Galiana: Saxos,  Amadeu Marin: Guitarra i objectes i  Jesús Gallardo: Percussions.

Thorough perception and respect for the sound material. From the second 00:00, the improvisers activate their acute perception of the qualities of the sound materials and the textures that emerge, and give them all the time they need to develop organically, which generates pieces of long duration. This concert will feature one of the most prominent and veteran composers of Swedish electroacoustic creation since 1988. Thomas Bjelkeborn is a member of the live electronic ensembles BOP and Sound Quartet. Bjelkeborn also works with video, which will implement a mirror game between the improvisers and the audience during the concert. More information: https://bjelkeborn.se/
