Fallen Heroes posits a reflection on the representation of the concepts supporting masculinity at a time when the values socially and culturally associated with men are being criticised and questioned from many angles. It includes the work of a number of creators whose praxis openly questions the role played by hegemonic masculinity in contemporary creation. The era of heroes has gone, and essentialist and dogmatic conceptions of the role and way of understanding gender identities are now obsolete. It is a time to resituate ourselves and question accepted values, to argue in favour of ambiguity and against fixed ideas.
