From 31st January to 21st September, 2003
Project curated by Vicente Aliaga, María del Corral, José Miguel G. Cortés
From the turmoil of 1968 to the September 11 attacks in 2001, society has undergone many changes which have greatly affected people’s everyday lives: aspects which have to do with family life, personal relationships, consumerist society, immigration, the evolution of women’s social role, the control and surveillance exerted by power structures over the public environment, or the questioning of sexual roles.
The project Micropolitics revised and studied all those aspects through the works of a selection of artists from the latest 30 years, who have been continually positioning themselves and proposing the everyday as something transformative and able to subvert established values.
