VI SONORAS FESTIVAL 2025

SATURDAY 24th MAY, 2025. ALL DAY LONG

The combination of Beatriz Sanchez, expert in visual art and a master of live cinema with the musical power of Severine Beata give shape to audiovisual shows. This is a show where both weave together an improvisation session of sound and projected images; under an environmental nexus of retro-futuristic unreality, Dada reminiscences and experimental execution.

Due to reasons beyond the organizacion’s control, the concert was performed by visutal artist Beatriz Sánchez and DJ Ylia.

Alondra Bentley’s voice and melodies merge with Ylia’s electronic textures and rhythms. The unexpected encounter gives rise to atmospheric and spectral music. Ghost songs written with filmmaker Isaki Lacuesta, responsible together with visual artist Albert Coma for the film projections that interact live with the music. Songs that float on ambient tracks, pixelated limbos, fantastic film echoes and sound travel in time… It all started one day when we started talking about Mark Fisher… Fantasma Sur points to a parallel reality where all genres can cross (k-punk, ghost story, spoken word, love letters vampiras), a house haunted by free spectres of past lives.

Jihane transitions between trance, psytrance and hard-dance experimenting with her own sound fusing visual and aesthetic elements to tell stories. Having a non-normative image added to the socio-cultural context when she began her artistic expression presented challenges that pushed her resilience by developing an identity directly related to creativity and art as a form of expression. And so, he started DJing when he was only 14 years old. Today he not only uses music to connect with audiences but also with an activist intention to advocate for self-acceptance and self-confidence to achieve any purpose.

Xenia is the solo project of a young woman based in Valencia who in 2021, inspired by the music of Molly Nilson, la Femme or Beach House, decided to put together all the songs she had composed related to space giving life to her dystopian and apocalyptic first EP “Esfera”, leading her to be part of the ecstatic scene of dark groups singing in Spanish. Currently she has released a new album, “Cuando las sombras se alargan”. In it we find electronic, reggaeton, urban, pop or drum n’ bass. His concept takes us to the most dreamlike, talking about dreams and surreal moments, combined with the sensations and feelings that we live in our conscious life.

SVSTO is the new musical project of Carla Parmenter who, with the help of producer Alejandro Da Rocha, seeks to create a dark but danceable sound, with acid lyrics that focus on the experience of living a youth in 20th century Europe. The imaginary SVSTO is formed by the polygons, factories and wastelands so familiar from their native Vallés oriental. SVSTO is born from the desire to unite apparently discordant points: dark music with queer festivity, life on the periphery of underground culture and activism with humor.
